Teaching
Starting Fall 2026, I am teaching ASTR 3430 “From Lab to Society: Mastering Science Communication”.
This course satisfies both the Science and Society requirement and the second writing requirement.
.
At the University of Rochester: I created and taught a one semester reading class on observational cosmology [UR PHY 591].
In addition, I co-created a workshop series called “the Art of Presenting”. It was targeted at Rochester undergrads doing summer research and visiting students through the REU program. The goal was to give the tools and practice space for students to build the skills to communicate their work with peers and seniors.
Both at the University of Rochester [UR] and at UC Berkeley [UCB] I have taught guest lectures in the following classes:
- [UCB PHY 209] Classical Electromagnetism “The Jackson Course”
- [UR AST 554] Cosmology
- [UR AST 444] Advanced Astrophysics Laboratory
- [UR AST 111] The Solar System and its Origin
- [UR AST 106] The Cosmic Origins of Life
Advising & MENTORING
Throughout my academic career, I have been fortunate to come across people who made it a point to match my interest in learning from them what they excelled at – this includes science of course, but also a wide range of soft skills necessary to succeed. What was so generously gifted to me, I intend to pass on to others who want to learn.
If you are a junior scientist interested in working on a topic related to my research interests, see here for opportunities to join my group.
